What you should know about New Plymouth YMCA
YMCA Taranaki is looking for an exceptional individual that can deliver our Sport and Recreation activities and programmes. Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to multi task. An ability to work autonomously and in a team environment and demonstrate initiative. K by 12 noon, Wednesday the 15 th March 2017.
YMCA Taranaki currently provides before and after school care services in New Plymouth, based at local primary schools and at YMCA Taranaki’s venue. We currently have a permanent position for an Out of school care Supervisor for term time only, pm Monday to Friday and 20 hours per week in the school holidays. Honesty Be truthful, open and sincere, act with integrity in all that you do. Throughout New Zealand there are 16 YMCAs all of which share a common purpose which is to meet and relate to the needs of people in their communities, and where they work, in a way that will encourage them to develop as individuals, express their own needs and reach their full potential. In 1886, the National Council of the YMCAs of Australia and New Zealand was formed this body was affiliated to the World Alliance. This Council continued to supervise the affairs of both countries until 1916 when New Zealand withdrew from the joint Council and formed its own national body. YMCA programmes have included work with children and young people, recreation, sports, service clubs, camping, and community work.
Mobile gymnasiums and trucks enabled the YMCA to extend physical education and recreational facilities to new housing areas. In 1966 the National Council commenced the first Training Centre for full time youth workers to be established in New Zealand
The Fresh Plymouth YMCA is the sole organization that offers specific community based services for at risk youth offenders in Taranaki. We have trained staff that give a commitment to the children having a vast time in their school holidays. Taranaki Tuataras is a social climbing club set up for youth with a passion for climbing.
The climbing wall is available for casual bouldering at any time when there is no other booking in place. The YMCA Taranaki provides a unique, safe, laughter and familiar environment for your child where they can learn, make friends and have a great time!. Cindy Gym is a incredible environment for your preschool children to play and grow confidence. The Crux Climbing Gym is the only climbing gym in Taranaki and caters for all ranges of experience and ability.
It is a vast starting store for learning some basic techniques for climbing and indoor top rope belaying. The YMCA Holiday programmed provides protection during the school holidays for children ages 5 13. The YMCA offers term courses, steady activities and facilities for your one off events. The YMCA Taranaki School Holiday programmed is a well established programmed run every school holidays, offering a incredible opportunity for your children, we focus on your children having merriment and enjoying their time off from school. Teams may use as many players as they wish and substitute players on and off at will.
We are a fully licensed Premature Childhood center that caters for 49 children ranging from beginning to 5 years. Club members are taught safe belaying skills, climbing technique and lead climbing skills. You will participate in your child’s play while YMCA instructors assist and play with your children too!. This programmed is based around assisting young people to modify their behavior through building trust, setting goals, understanding and participating in challenges, solving problems as individuals and groups and increasing their motivation to succeed
