What you should know about Lisa Tamati Designer Jewellery
As a child it was Gymnastics that Lisa excelled at and also athletics and Netball. Later at age 15 Lisa got into Surfing in which she competed at a national level until leaving to go overseas in 1994. She was also a Taranaki Water polo rep, and held Taranaki secondary school records in discus and shot put. Whilst overseas Lisa cycled through parts of 20 countries and did many adventure trips including canoeing down the Yukon in Canada Alaska. Back in Austria Lisa completed an apprenticeship as a goldsmith and ran her own business exporting Paua Pearls from NZ to Europe and Japan before running her own wholesale and retail manufacturing jewellery business in Austria.
Since 1997 Lisa has been involved in ultra distance runnin including over 200km of races in the sahara including such countries as Morocco x2, Tunisia, Egyptian Arabiana and Libyan desert and western desert and over 6500km or two and a half times around the world in training and races in the past 13 years. At the beginning of 2007 Lisa returned home to NZ after 13 years in Austria and now runs her own Jewellery and Art shop in New Plymouth along with her Mother, Isobel. In 2008 Lisa ran the Badwater Ultramarathon for the first time and again the following year as well as over 130 other ultramarathons. production of Lisa's Gobi desert race documentary for Sky Television.
